MY PLAN FOR DISTRICT C
Listen. Follow Through. Get Results.
If I'm elected to represent District C, I won't promise that I can fix every problem overnight. A City Council member is only one vote, and many city services are administered by other departments.
What I can promise is that I will be accessible, I will do my homework, I will ask questions, and I will keep pushing for answers and solutions.
1. Be Accessible to District C Residents
You should know how to reach your City Council representative—and you should get a response when you do. That's why I created this website, so you can easily contact me!
I will make myself available to hear your concerns, answer questions and help residents navigate City Hall when they don't know where to turn. I plan to initiate improvements to the Bogalusa website so that it will easily provide all information residents and newcomers may need.
I also want to create opportunities to meet with District C residents and hear directly from you about what is happening in your neighborhood.
2. Create a District C Priority List—and Follow Through
Potholes. Drainage problems. Sewer issues. Damaged streets. Streetlights. Overgrown property. Dangerous structures.
I want to add Public Works Requests to Bogalusa's website, so residents can easily request help when needed. I will stay tuned to District C's requests, instead of allowing individual complaints to get lost. I want to maintain a running list of District C concerns and follow up on their status.
I can't promise every problem will be fixed immediately.
I can promise I won't simply forget about it.
3. Fight for District C's Fair Share
When Bogalusa has limited money for streets, drainage, infrastructure and other improvements, District C deserves to know where those dollars are being spent.
I will ask:
What is being spent? Where is it being spent? How were those priorities determined? And what is District C receiving?
City resources should be allocated based on legitimate needs—not on who knows whom or who complains the loudest.
4. Improve the Way We Address Blight
Bogalusa's current approach to Code Enforcement needs improvement.
I believe we must recognize the difference between a homeowner who cannot afford necessary repairs and a property owner who will not maintain property.
For elderly, disabled and low-income homeowners who genuinely need help, I want the City to aggressively pursue grants, partnerships and home-repair assistance programs.
For owners who have the means to maintain neglected property but refuse to do so, we need a more effective and consistent enforcement process.
Compassion and accountability can exist together.
5. Work for Cleaner, Safer Neighborhoods
Overgrown lots, illegal dumping, abandoned structures, drainage problems and neglected public property affect more than appearance. They affect safety, property values and people's confidence in their neighborhoods.
I want to work with residents, city departments and community organizations to identify problem areas and find practical, affordable ways to improve them.
6. Protect Your Tax Dollars
My background in bookkeeping, accounting and administrative work taught me something very simple:
The numbers have to add up, and there should be documentation to support them.
As your council representative, I will ask questions about budgets, contracts, expenditures and proposed projects before voting on them.
Bogalusa has limited resources. We cannot afford to waste them.
7. Give Citizens a Voice at City Hall
I believe public participation makes government better.
Residents shouldn't feel that important decisions are already made before they have an opportunity to speak.
I will support meaningful public participation and greater transparency so citizens have an opportunity to raise concerns, suggest improvements and understand what their government is doing.
Most Importantly—Tell Me What I've Missed
This isn't meant to be the final list.
District C belongs to the people who live here—not to the person sitting in the Council seat.

If you have an idea that could make District C better, I want to hear it.
I don't expect to have every answer.
But I will listen, investigate, ask questions, follow through and work for you.
